My name is Bram van Elderen and I am a software engineer. I aspire to be a great game developer. I am from Waddinxveen in the Netherlands and I am currently a student at the Hague University following the computer science course. Outside of my study I am self-teaching myself game development, as result I’ve made multiple games and experiments of which you can see my better ones on this website.
My childhood story is probably like most gamers. I started out playing much outside and with friends, and at those friends I discovered gaming. While my family never had gaming consoles early on I could still play at my friend’s house at which my obsession over games started out and never stopped. In my teenage years I was becoming interested in how games get developed and dreamed of making games myself. Then I came across programming, I started programming my first time on a TI-84 Calculator making programs that could automatically solve mathematical problems and could give me information of all subjects where a calculator was allowed on tests. After high school I started out at the Hague University where I greatly improved my programming skills.
After my first internship I started working part time at Alphacomm which lasted for 2 years, I did learn a lot from that experience however I also learned that my ambition really lies with game development so after those 2 years I decided to continue my self-study on game development. While gaining experience in the game industry it has also improved my programming skills a lot and i hope to continue too learn more and more in the future!
Over the years I’ve acquired a wide variety of different skills in software development, while some knowledge has degraded i can easily pick that knowledge up again and i can also learn new topics in a rapid pace. Here is a list of skills I’ve learned.
I’ve gained the previously mentioned skills through different kinds of experiences.
